Wanting to remove back hair is quite understandable. We all have varying ideas when it comes to looking good. Because we’re talking about back hair removal, you have to understand that some methods may prove ineffective depending on the thickness and growth rate of your hair. Also, take note that other hair removal methods might not be suggested to you by dermatologists due to certain conditions like skin color, sensitivity to laser, type of hair, etc.

The first and probably cheapest method you can use for back hair removal is shaving. Getting your back hair shaved can be quick and pain free, and can be comparatively cheaper compared to other methods out there. The problem is that the effects are not permanent, and hair may grow back a bit thicker than before. You can also try using hair removal lotions or creams along with shaving to make it more effective.

Since you will be dealing with quite a large body surface, another method of hair removal would be waxing. Now, you’re probably already familiar with the method as it involves putting hot/cold wax over your back and placing strips over them. Once the wax has taken grip, it is quickly pulled off clean and free of hair. In terms of pricing, waxing can be quite cheap compared to other techniques as well. There’s just one downside though – it can be quite a painful experience.

Another method that you might want to consider is depilatories. The method involves the use of the chemical called thioglycolate which is mixed with either sodium or calcium hydroxide. It works by dissolving the hair, leaving a gel like residue on the skin after the process has been completed. While most results are usually satisfactory when it comes to using depilatories, you might experience slight skin irritation from the chemicals.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) hair removal on the other hand is starting to become one of the most popular back hair removal methods aside from laser. The method involves the usage of different light wavelengths into the skin and thereby damaging the hair follicles. As compared to laser which generally emits a singular wavelength, IPL has been known to cause lesser damage to the skin and can be used even for darker skinned individuals.

When it comes to back hair removal, there will always be permanent and non permanent solutions. In essence, non permanent methods will be cheaper compared to permanent solutions but it can be a repetitive and tiring process of removal. On the other hand, permanent back hair removal methods will indeed cost a lot more, but because they provide permanent results, you won’t have to any more time or money over the course of your lifetime.
